Chronicles of the Waterworld

This is the set of 3 illustration which were created for the art contest held by the Atomhawk agency and were shortlisted.

It illustrates the excellent fantasy book called "Varan" by russian authors Marina and Sergey Dyachenko.
The book describes the world where ocean level changes dramatically through the year. In the wet season it rises several hundred meters so tops of the rocks become islands. People, who live in low lands each year have to migrate up and down. This separates people into two groups. Aristocrats, who live through the year in the upper world and others who dwell under clouds, when the sea is low. Nice global warming scenario, huh?:)
